Taiwan artists
Thirty-one young Taiwan artists, born in the 1980s, are holding their first group exhibition in Beijing.
Super Generation at Taiwan presents more than 40 oil paintings, wooden carvings, paper-cut works, videos, sculptures and installations by 30 artists who "usually create refreshing and thought-provoking works, drawing from their personal experiences as well as local cultures", says museum dean Zhang Zikang.

Shanghai
Dance drama
The original dance drama Zhou Xuan will be premiered in February, depicting the life story of Zhou Xuan, a Shanghai movie star in the 1930-40s. Song Jie, who plays Zhou Xuan, will perform everything from classical ballet to Chinese folk dancing. Meanwhile, scenes depicting old Shanghai will make use of Latin, ballroom, hip-hop and street dancing.

Golden comedy
21 Carat is the latest creation from playwright Ning Caishen, director He Nian and actors Guo Jingfei and Qian Fang. The team has done a series of highly successful plays in the past two years. 21 Carat is a modern comedy about a material girl, struggling to make a choice between true love and money.

Master classes
A total of 88 original artworks from three world-class artists, Salvador Dali, Arman, and Georges Braque, are exhibited throughout the Shanghai Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park, from Jan 15 to March 15. The art works include iconoclastic Dali sculptures such as The Melted Watch series, Space Elephant, and Women in Flames.
