The Beijing LDTX modern dance's production, Walks of Life, is choreographed by Ma Shouze. It is about all the creatures on Earth and their causal relationships.
Ma is one of the pioneers of modern dance in China. After graduating from the Guangdong Dance School in 1987, Ma furthered her studies in London and in the United States. Costumes and stage setting are by Galina Mihaleva and Saskia Jorda from the US.

The Gershwin piano quartet, founded in 1996, presents the adapted works of George Gershwin (1898-1937), an American composer known to integrate jazz and folk music into symphonic music. The quartet comprises Andre Desponds, Stefan Wirth, Benjamin Engeli and Mischa Cheung. Besides Gershwin's works, the group also performs ballet music and Broadway musicals.

The Chinese Acrobatics Group has toured more than 80 countries and helped foster friendships with them. Its performance includes traditional acrobatics, a circus show, magic and old Beijing folk plays. The show blends music, dance, local opera and martial arts.

Exhibition
The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art is hosting a group show Focusing on China's new generation of artists, the exhibition features over 30 exhibits of installations, collages, photos, performance art, and multi-media works, created by eight emerging and mid-career artists or artist groups, namely Cao Fei, Chu Yun, Liu Wei, MadeIn, Qiu Zhijie, Sun Yuan & Peng Yu, Yang Fudong and Zheng Guogu.

Cloud Gate is a modern dance theater troupe based in Taiwan. Founded by Lin Hwai-min in 1973, it has built a reputation based on its innovative dance styles and choreography. Cloud Gate will present Cursive next week, featuring traditional Chinese calligraphy using the movement of dancers' bodies to illustrate the free strokes of Chinese calligraphy.
