The Shanghai International Magic Festival, which is held every two years, will reappear next month. As an important part of the 11th Shanghai International Arts Festival, the event includes competitions, performances, as well as opportunities for magic fans to be amazed.
At the press conference, a local Shanghai magician performed two close-up tricks that made the audience members' eyes open wide.
This year, the festival's organizing committee invited 14 top ranked magic masters from the United States, Germany, France, Italy, and Russia. They will present four stage magic performances and two close-up magic shows.
No in its 11th year, the Shanghai International Magic Festival has brought many spectacular shows to local audiences, and also provided a platform for young magicians. This year the sponsors have even bigger plans to promote those young talents.
Wu Xiaoming, president of SEMG Performing Arts Center, said, "We are going to sign some young magicians through the festival. The event is a great opportunity to choose excellent artists and promote Chinese magic."
More than 30 Chinese and international magicians have applied for the competition. And they are looking forward to winning a contract through their performances.
