China Festival 2009 was kicked off on Saturday in Nepali capital Kathmandu.

Nepali Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, together with Chinese ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong, inaugurated the festival and said that China is a close friend of Nepal enjoying a long tradition of friendly relation.

The six-day China Festival 2009 was kicked off on Saturday in Nepali capital Kathmandu. Nepali Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, together with Chinese ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong, inaugurated the festival and said that China is a close friend of Nepal enjoying a long tradition of friendly relation.

He said Nepal would like to welcome the Chinese investors in Nepal, while the festival of this type would contribute a lot for the promotion of bilateral trade and culture as well as enhancing the people to people contacts between the two countries.
