At Guilin Bus Terminal, buses bound for Tantou Village located on the upper reach of the waterfall leave daily at 7:20 am and 12:30 pm. The roughly four-and-a-half-hour trip costs 15 yuan (US$1.5) per person. Travelers can also get on the bus at Guinan Bus Station near the Liquan Beer Brewery. Admission to Huaping costs about ten yuan (US$1.2) per person.

Holiday homes are available in Tianping Mountain Protection Zone for 80 yuan (US$10). There are also several hotels costing 5-15 yuan per person. Wooden houses at the Red Beach cost 15 yuan per person. Around the Nine-beach Waterfall, nearly every household is a small hotel, among which the one right across the police station is highly recommended.

According to the locals, it is advisable for travelers to apply a little soap to their socks and shoes so as to keep away the mountain leeches abundant there. Camping is allowed within the protection zone, but cell phones are of no use as no signals can be received. April and May are the best time to go there, as the flowers are in full bloom during the period.

A guide is strongly suggested for travelers wishing to tour around Huaping, and can be hired for between 40-50 yuan (US$4-5). To visit the Nine-beach Waterfall requires an adventurous spirit and enormous patience as well as perseverance. Generally speaking, it is easy to view parts 1-4 and 7-9 of the waterfall, but the road leading to the fifth and sixth parts is in very bad condition, making it rather risky to go there. Usually, the guide will suggest that travelers not go there.

The spacious beaches at the seventh and first part of the waterfall provide good camping venues. But remember to never camp during the rainy season, which is extremely dangerous.
