Gallery of Ancient Chinese
Paintings
The Gallery of Ancient Chinese Paintings showcases about
140 pieces of masterpieces, ranging from the famous and original paintings of
the Tang, Song and Yuan (1271-1368) dynasties to masterpieces of the Zhe, Wumen
and Songjiang schools of the Ming Dynasty, to the four masters, four monks and
Yangzhou
School of the early Qing Dynasty and Haishang School of the late Qing Dynasty.
These works, with their varied styles and ingenuity, mirror the traditions and
evolution of Chinese culture. The gallery decor also embodies an ancient and
scholarly architectural style.
Gallery of Ancient Chinese Seals
The Gallery of Ancient Chinese Seals displays more than
500 pieces of seals that can be traced as far back as the Zhou Dynasty and as
late as the Qing Dynasty. The 10,000 differently styled signets reflect the long
history of seals in China and embody a profound cultural sophistication of the
nation.
Gallery of Ancient Chinese Sculptures
The Gallery of Ancient Chinese Sculptures presents 127
pieces of ancient Chinese stone, wood, clay, pottery and cast-bronze sculptures
from the Warring States Period to the Ming Dynasty. The gallery is divided into
four sections, with Chinese Buddhist
sculptures and figurine-modeling art as its main subjects.
In addition to the 11 galleries, the museum includes three exhibition halls,
a tearoom, a restaurant, shops, a high-definition graphics hall, a library and a
VIP garden.
