Xiling Snow Mountain is a national place of interest, which lies in Dayi County, Chengdu City in Sichuan Province. It is 95 km away from Chengdu City and covers an area of 482.8 square kilometers. The Great Snow Mountain in the mountain resort, 5,164 meters high and covered with snow all year round, is the highest peak in Chengdu City. In spring, flowers blossom; in summer, waterfalls show up here and there; in autumn, red leaves scatter over the mountain; and in winter, silver snow presents an attractive view. The mountain resort is an ideal place for entertainment, holidays, summer tours, mountaineering and skiing. There one can find primeval forests, sheer precipices, overhanging rocks, various flowers, rare birds and animals, rapids and waterfalls, and also such alpine natural sights as sea of clouds, the sun rising, the forest Buddha Halo, the Yinyang Boundary (a dividing line between the dead and the living, or a contrast between darkness and light), and golden rays of sunlight atop the mountain, etc.     

Mountain flowers come into bloom sequentially from low altitude to high in the mountain between March and August, with the blossom period as long as five months. Some big trees can reach 10 meters high and over 100 centimeters in diameter, with twisted branches. Waterfalls appear here and there, and form over 30 rapids and springs overlapping one another, with the height of 30-70 meters. The red and yellow leaves all over the mountains in autumn form a marvelous spectacle. Winter is certainly the best season of one year.
