Star-Island Lake

The Star-Island Lake is located in the northwest of Hepu County in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, about 52 kilometers to the Beihai City. Reputed as area of south pearl, the lake connects with Lingshan County to the northeast, and Qinzhou City to the northwest. It covers an area of 66 square kilometers. Since the lake is nestled in the hills, it has a landform of various rises and falls. The lake is dotted with 1n026 islets, just like numerous shining stars embedded in the green water, hence the name Star-Island Lake.

The Star-Island Lake has a mild climate, cool in summer and warm in winter. Embraced by green hills, the vast lake is crystal clear with islets spreading all over it. A grand film-shooting base was set up in 1996. Sights, such as the Zhongyi Hall (Loyal-Righteous Hall), the Wenshu Academy (Manjusri Academy), the Liangshan Stockaded Village and streets of Suzhou and Hangzhou, lie in the fascinating landscape of lakes and mountains, evoking one's deep thought of ancient times.

The Star-Island Lake Scenic Area and the Beihai Silver Beach make a mutual-complementary tourism pattern of one sea and one lake, one salty and one weak, one with sand beach and one with green islets. The Star-Island Lake has become a new hot scenic spot in south China, and a bright pearl on the golden tour route of the Beihai Silver Beach in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
