Located in the southeast of Changchun City, the capital of Jilin Province, the Jingyue Lake, praised as the Green Pearl, has always enjoyed the reputation of being the twin-lake with the Sun-Moon Lake in Taiwan. It has been specified as a national-level scenic spot by the State Council and a national forest park by the Ministry of Forestry. It has also become a provincial resort of Jilin. The scenery of the Jingyue Lake changes with seasons. It is a perfect place to go for a walk in spring, prevent sunstroke in summer, view red leaves in autumn, and go skating in winter.

The Jingyue Lake Scenic Area is divided into four scenic spots, namely mountains on the north, forests on the south, Moon Lake and village on the east. Mountain villages set off the lake. With vast stretch of forests and wild flowers on the lakeside, it is abundant in medicinal plants and has 82 kinds of vertebrate animals and more than 60 species of birds.      

The Jingyue Lake also has the largest artificial forestry center in China, with 8,000-hectare area covered with artificial forest of 50 years old. Up to now, it has developed into a multi-layer and multi-structural forestry center with various species.
