Stele of Dajin Victory Hill

On a hill located 1.5 kilometers east of Shibeichengzi Village in Fuyu City of Jilin Province is the Stele of Dajin Victory Hill. Surrounded by vast prairie land, the stele is situated on top of a platform in the middle of the oval hill.

In 1114, to overthrow the regime of the Liao Dynasty (916-1125), King Aguda of the Jin nationality gathered 2,500 warriors and pledged a resolution before going to war. Aguda finally triumphed and set up the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234), designating the site as Victory Hill in 1115. Shizu of the Jin Dynasty later came to the hill to erect the Stele of Dajin Victory Hill in honor of his ancestors.

The stele is 3.2 meters tall and consists of the top, main body and tortoise-shaped base. The facade was inscribed in Han characters, and the reverse side, in Nuzhen characters. All of the relics are important to the study of the war process between the Jin and Liao, including the Nuzhen-ethnic-minority characters.
