Liaoning Provincial Museum
Special Exhibitions of Cultural Relics in the new museum
facility
The Liaoning
Provincial Museum, located in the Heping District of Northeast China's Shenyang
City, is a provincial-level historical and art museum of China,
famed for its rich and rare collections.
Its new building facility, opened on November 12, 2004,
was a key cultural project during Liaoning's "Ninth Five Year" plan, featuring modern and comprehensive service
functions and top-notch equipment.
When it was opened to the public, the new facility held
seven special exhibitions of its collections, including the "Exhibition of
National Treasures of Painting and Calligraphy of the Qing (1644-1911)
Palace," "Exhibition of Chinese Ancient
Tablet Inscriptions," "Porcelain Exhibition of the Qing Palace,"
"Ceramics Exhibition of the Liao (916-1125) Dynasty," "Exhibition of Chinese
Ancient Coins," and "Craftworks of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasties."
The exhibitions covered an area of 5,203 square meters, displaying 3,084
cultural relics, 108 pictures, 11 illustrations, 4 paintings, 2 group relievos,
and 7 restored scenes, which was quite well received by the visitors.
The "Special Exhibitions of Cultural Relics" in the museum's new building won
the Prize of Elaborate Works in the Sixth National Top Ten Museums (2003-2004)
competition.
