Iron Hoe
Unearthed in Huixia County of Central China's Henan
Province in 1950, the iron hoe is 10 centimeters long, 10.5 centimeters
wide, and 2 centimeters tall. It was used during the Warring
States Period (475-221BC) and is currently collected in the National Museum
of China. The hoe's structure is very rational, with a right handle that makes
it very easy to use. Not only could it be used to hoe the weeds, but also to
preserve the soil moisture, demonstrating a great breakthrough in agricultural
technology at the time.
