Message from Minister Sun Jiazheng
Updated: 2004-06-01 On the occasion of the inauguration of the 6th
Asian Arts Festival, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the
participating artists and friends.
Asia is the common homeland which we, the Asian people, share for living and
development. The time-honored history, intelligent people and profound cultural
and intellectual heritage in Asia have ensured this continent a unique place in
the world. I believe that through the joint endeavors of the Asian people, Asia
will embrace an even more beautiful future.
Cultural exchange is a bridge of understanding and friendship among peoples.
Music knows no boundaries, dances need no translation, and all forms of art has
its own charm and power. I believe that the Asian Arts Festival will contribute
to the furtherance of cultural ties between China and other Asian nations and to
the promotion of understanding and friendship among Asian artists and peoples.
I wish the 6th Asian Arts Festival a great success.
