A highlight of the 1st International Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival
being held from May 23 to June 10, the establishment ceremony of the Chengdu
Intangible Cultural Heritage Conservation Center (CICHCC) was held May 28 at the
Chengdu People's Art Museum.
CICHCC is the first ICH conservation organization in Sichuan Province, and
its establishment indicates that the ICH conservation in Chengdu has stepped
into a new phase, said Long Yusheng, Head of Chengdu People's Art Museum and a
representative of CICHCC.
The center is expected to play an important role in the planning, studying,
consultancy and promotion of ICH conservation in Chengdu, as well as in training
cultural heritage conservation professionals and organizing cultural exchanges.
