China's northernmost province of Heilongjiang and southernmost Hainan province were the most popular with tourists during the Spring Festival holidays in 2007.

According to the local tourism administrations, most hotel rooms in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, were booked up. The city's two famous tourist attractions, Sun Island and the Yabuli skiing resort, received 15,400 and 20,000 visitors respectively on Wednesday.

In Haikou, Hainan province, 82.4% of hotel rooms were reserved as of Wednesday, while the figure in Sanya, another tourism destination in the province well known for splendid scenery alongside the beach, reached 87.1%.
