The Asian Arts Festival kicked off at the Beijing Exhibition
Hall Theatre in a gala show featuring artists from 10 countries in the night of
August 31. In the grand performance of "Bravo, ASEAN", Artists from China and
countries of ASEAN presented the most traditional performances.
Their performances expressed the folk and modern characteristics, the artists
of Brunei, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia performed the folk dancing, accompanied by
the percussion instrument. The Chinese folk Song-and-dance displayed the
magnificent air.
In addition to the folk characteristics, there are two countries brought the
fashionable modern performances. Singapore performed the modern dances and
Philippine perfectly integrated the folk music instruments and costumes with
ballet.
The audiences, with the different hobbies, like different programs, many
elderly expressed their affection to the Southeast Asia folk programs, while the
young audience indicated, Singapore and Philippines performances were extremely
extraordinary.
