The Malaysian National Art Institute is a higher educational art academy directly under Malaysian Ministry of Art and Sightseeing. It was built in 1994 and covers academic fields like music, opera, dance and film.

The dance troupe was formed once the institute established, and has attended various international art festivals and dance competitions. It also brought excellent performance to the 6th AAF.

Mengadap Rebab is the prelude dance of Malaysian traditional dance drama "Makyung," originated from Kelantan in northeast Malaysia. It reflects the uniqueness and the beauty of the local geographic scenery.
