News conference of the 8th Asia Art Festival (AAF) will be held at the China Art Gallery on August 10th, 2006. It is reported that Chen Xiaoguang, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and famous lyric writer, created the 'Lyric Asia' for the AAF as the theme song.

The Asia Art Festival, as the first regional international art festival held by China, get its birth in 1998. Compared with the previous seven AAF, the Festival this year reaches a new height, in terms of scale and contents.

From August 31 to September 6, the 8th AAF, with the theme of "learning from each other, and developing in a harmonious step", will hold four main activities, namely, the grand performance of "Bravo! ASEAN" jointly staged by ASEAN and Chinese artists, the "Theme Conference of Asian (10＋3) Art Museum Directors Forum", "Asian Wonders - Art Exhibition of ASEAN", and "The 2nd NEACH & (10＋3) Cultural Personnel Resource Development and Cooperation Training Class".

Li Dongwen, the director of External Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, Zhang Yu, the general manager of Chinese Foreign Cultural Corporation, and Fan Di'an, the Director of China Art Museum, attended the conference and introduced some relative information.
