Two exhibitions open in Zhejiang Museum Updated: 2004-09-23
The Exhibition of Cultural Relics of Yue State and Treasure Exhibition of
Painting and Calligraphic Collections of Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasties
open in Zhejiang Museum today.
The Exhibition of Cultural Relics of Yue State is divided into three parts:
"Yue People and Yue State", "Farming and War", and "Prelude of Kingdom of
Porcelains", which introduces the basic knowledge of the historic Yue State and
its people as well as their living, and reflects the concept of value, spirit
and culture of the Yue group.
The second exhibition, which is on the basis of the painting and calligraphic
works collected by Zhejiang Museum and some other artworks collected by other
institutions in Zhejiang, exhibits 180 painting and calligraphic works of the
Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties (618-1644), among which a lot of works
appear in public for the first time. These artworks not only portray the
development of Chinese
painting from the Tang
Dynasty, but also show the refulgence of Zhejiang's painting history.
