Reunion: Theme of the closing ceremony

The closing ceremony of the Seventh China Arts Festival will be held in Shaoxing on September 26. The sponsor held a news conference in Hangzhou yesterday to disclose the excellent programs of the closing ceremony.

Wenhua prize-awarding ceremony is the highlight of the closing ceremony. The 80-minute performance of Shao Opera "Real and Fake Monkey King", as the only Wenhua Award for New Plays from Shaoxing, will be also presented in the closing ceremony.

The director of the closing ceremony is Zhao Ming, who also directed dance drama "Farewell My Concubine". Stage arts designer is Zhang Jiwen and the emcees are Pu Cunxin and Zhu Yuanyuan. The prize-awarding ceremony will be concluded in the song and dance "Please remember tonight, please remember Shaoxing".

More than 40 lotus platforms with a diameter of 3.5 meters will be arranged into the "Stars Avenue" outside the Shaoxing Grand Theater. 40 girls in rich attire will sit on the platforms, playing lutes and guzheng (a Chinese zither with 25 strings).

The Eighth China Arts Festival will be held in Hubei Province in 2008. There will be a flag handover ceremony from Zhejiang Province to Hubei Province in closing ceremony, among which programs with the local characteristics of Zhejiang and Hubei will be performed.

In addition, 100 sightseeing boats' cruise around Shaoxing city, Shaoxing Pyrotechnic Evening, and square welcoming activity will be held on September 26.
