Fifth China Arts Festival

The Fifth China Arts Festival was held in Chendu of Sichuan Province in October 1997. The theme of this year's festival was art pageant, people's holiday. During the festival, about 30 performances were staged in factories, rural areas, military stations, and campuses.

Activities comprised 52 performances, with a total of 106 shows, attracting an audience of 1.5 billion people.
