Notice of soliciting works for the mass cultural activity photographic competition of the 7th China Arts Festival

The 7th China Arts Festival will be held in Zhejiang Province on September 10-26. To record the brilliant performances and mass cultural activities from various angles, which are precious materials of this festival, a photographic competition is now conducted. The Notice is as follows:

1. Sponsors:

Undertaken by Zhejiang Art Gallery of the Masses, Zhejiang Library, and Xiuzhou Education and Culture Bureau of Jiaxing
Co-organized by Zhejiang Photographic Art Academy, Xiuzhou Culture Museum of Jiaxing

2. Content description:

Photographs either recording the wonderful performances and exhibitions as well as moving stories during the preparation work and activities of the festival or reflecting the 55th anniversary of New China with vivid scenes of daily life and our time spirit can all take part in the competition.

3. Requirements on the standard and the delivery:

Participating works can either be color photography or black-and-white, with a size of 10 x 8 inches. Works made with reverting films and digital cameras should be developed into photographs. Four to six photos make up of a group, with a size of 10 x 8 inches for each photo. The photos should not be mounted. Titles and names of authors with their detailed addresses, postcodes and telephone numbers should be labeled on the back of each participating work.

Those that fall short of the above requirements would not be chosen.

4. Deadline for contributions and appraisal period

Deadline: October 5.

Appraisal period: the mid ten days of October.
The exact date of the exhibition of chosen works will be noticed in time.

5. Awarding

100 works will be chosen for the exhibition, among which 2 works will win the first prize with a premium of 2,000 yuan (US$ 250) each, 5 works win the second prize with a premium of 1,000 (US$ 125) each, and 10 works, the third prize with a premium of 500 yuan (US$ 62) each. There are also 20 works for the Excellence Award. Certificates will be issued for the winning works as well as all that have been chosen for the exhibition.

6. Others

No fare will be charged for each participating work. Works will not be returned if not chosen.

The sponsoring units reserve the right to copy, publish albums and make CDs of the chosen works and publish them on newspapers for free.
