Logo for 7th China Arts Festival decided: Blooming Lotus Updated: 2004-02-24
On February 23, just 200 days away from the 7th China Arts Festival (CAF),
the logo of the festival was officially announced by the Zhejiang Preparing
Committee for the 7th China Arts Festival. Several officials of the committee
attended the ceremony.
The logo for the 7th CAF, a blooming lotus, embodies the basic elements of
design of the festival logo of CAF, which is round in shape with transfiguration
of the Chinese character "簒" (literally, art) surrounded by characters of "China
Arts Festival" both in Chinese and English. The central design looks like a man
holding bouquets in both hands or a bird that is about to flying to the sky,
which indicates the rise of Chinese arts to a higher level.
With its petal surrounds the festival logo of CAF in the artistic design of
"7", the blooming lotus for the 7th CAF indicates that the 7th China Arts
Festival is a pageant of various arts which are open and innovative. The lotus
is a reflection of the local culture of Zhejiang. The gradual change of the
color from yellow to green implicates the beauty of the mountains and waters of
Zhejiang as well as the artistic creativity of this festival.
The designer of the lotus logo is Guo Dehong, the design director of Jinjiang
Post Ads Co. of Fujian Province. Blooming Lotus was chosen from 211 candidate
works from all over the country.
