¡°Photo Show of 100 Items of Great Archeological Discoveries of China in 20th Century¡± Held in Warsaw, Capital of Poland
As an important
component part of the show activities in series in commemoration of the 53rd
anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a large-scale
photo show of the 100 Items of Great Archeological Discoveries of China in 20th
Century, jointly sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Poland and the Warsaw
Historic Museum in Poland, is solemnly held at the Warsaw Historical Museum in
the capital of Poland on September 23rd, 2002. Present at the opening ceremony
are Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Poland Liu Xinquan, the curator
of Warsaw Historical Museum, the Vice Department Chief of the Museum Department
of Polish Cultural Ministry, the celebrities of Polish cultural circles, and the
overseas Chinese, approximately 200 people in total.
The curator of
Warsaw Historical Museum delivers a speech brimming with warm feeling at the
opening ceremony, speaking highly of the tremendous achievements made in the
field of archeology in China. He says ten years ago he had the luck to see with
his own eyes an archeological site, which partially reflected the Chinese
archeological achievements in 20th century. The long-standing history of China
and its brilliant culture have left him an indelible impression in his whole
life. He says the development of Chinese archeology is playing a more and more
important role in pushing forward the development of the archeological
undertaking of the world. Counselor Liu says in his opening speech that these
photos show the great achievements made by the Chinese archeology marching from
prosperity to liveliness in 20th century of China, particularly since the
founding of the New China, they are of great value for scientific researches
playing a very important role and functions in the archeological history of
China, and that the Chinese archeological discoveries have also made great
contributions to the archeological development of the world as well as an
important component part in the treasure-house of the cultural heritage of the
world.
This photo show
is of great realistic significance to make the Polish people have a better
understanding of the Chinese history and culture, to promote the traditional
friendship between the peoples of Poland and China and to build closer friendly
exchanges between the peoples of the two countries, particularly the exchanges
between the archeologists of the two countries.
Due to the good
theme selection and the elaborately wrought photos, this show is warmly received
by visitors from all circles. At present, the Historic Museum of Krakow, a
well-known ancient city of culture in Poland, has made a reservation of the
