A photo show of China in Focus '99 is open on December 8th, 2000 in Helsinki, capital of Finland and warmly received by visitors from all circles in Finland.

This show is jointly sponsored by the Helsinki Municipal Government and the Chinese Embassy to Finland. The photo show displays over 70 photos taken by 13 world-renowned photographers in various parts of China at the invitation of the Cultural Ministry of China in 1999. These works are taken from the angle of foreigners' view to reflect the natural conditions and social customs of China, the daily life of the modern Chinese people, and the development and changes day by day in China.

The vice mayor of Helsinki, the Chinese Ambassador to Finland Lu Xinhua, the Finnish government officials and the noted public figures in the circles of economy, culture and information, over 100 people in total, participate in the opening ceremony.

This show will last for one and a half months and be closed on January 28th, 2001.
