Recently, the Chinese Embassies in Switzerland, Finland, Sweden and Denmark and the Chinese Consulate General in New York held a photo show of Republic's Album of 2000~2001 one after another, which was warmly accepted by the local friends from all circles. The visitors admired the achievements made by China in recent years in the fields of politics, economy and society.

The Chinese Embassy in Switzerland held a photo show of Republic's Album of 2000~2001 in Berne, warmly accepted by the people from all walks of life in Switzerland. The visitors also watched a videotape entitled Medical Culture of China, a documentary reflecting the traditional medical culture of China, with great interest. Marti, Chairman of Bill-Chinese Culture Friendship Association, said after the visit that China had achieved astonishing achievements in the past 20 years since its reforms and opening-up, and he wishes, in addition, the relationship between Switzerland and China a further development.

In Helsinki, Linden, Minister of Finnish Cultural Ministry, Kaleila, Director of President's General Office, Hotarli, Chairman of the Friendly Association of Finland and China, and friends from all circles, around 400 people in total, visited the photo show of Republic's Album of 2000~2001 at the Chinese Embassy in Finland. Many Finnish friends thought that these photos taken at the historic moments showed indisputably the marvelous achievements that had attracted the worldwide attention in the fields of politics, economy, culture and science and technology. China, developing towards the direction of a strong and powerful nation in the world, is sure to play a more and more important role in maintaining world peace and in international affairs as well.

The Chinese Embassies in Sweden and Denmark also held the photo show of Republic's Album of 2000~2001 in Stockholm and Copenhagen respectively. In addition, the photo show of Republic's Album of 2000~2001, held under the auspices of the Chinese Consulate General in New York and assisted by the Asian Cultural Center in New York, will begin at the Asian Cultural Center in New York, lasting for two weeks.

The Republic's Album of 2000~2001 is edited and published jointly by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Xinhua News Agency. From the beginning of the new century, an album with 100 photos will be edited and published every year to record and show to the whole world the important events occurring and the achievements made in all fields in China.
