For celebrating 52nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a photo show of Republic's Album of 2000~2001, jointly sponsored by the Embassy of China in Congo (Brazzaville) and the Municipal Government of Brazzaville and assisted by the Congo and China Friendship Association, opens at the City Hall of Brazzaville on October 18th, 2001. The 80 photos on display reflect the tremendous development and the encouraging changes of China in the past year.
That morning, Wang Ju, Charg¨¦ D'Affaires of the Embassy of China in Congo (Brazzaville), and Mayor of Brazzaville, cut the ribbon for the opening ceremony of the photo show. Also participating in the opening ceremony and viewing the photo show are the Minister of Culture Ministry of Congo (Brazzaville), high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information, and the Ministry of Culture, the responsible people from news media, friendly personages from all walks of life, and the diplomatic envoys from different countries stationing in Congo (Brazzaville), around 200 people in total.
After the visit, Mayor of Brazzaville wrote in the visitors' book, I think the Congolese should always get an inspiration from the vitality and vigor of the Chinese people so that we can make efforts for the development of Congo with action. The Minister of the Cultural Ministry of Congo also wrote in the visitors' book, A show like this is really excellent to introduce to us the great achievements made in the various aspects of the daily life of the (Chinese) people. It is permeated with a warm and happy atmosphere. Hopefully the Congolese can have an even better understanding of our Chinese partner and their country so as to consolidate the cooperation between our two countries. The main news media of Congo (Brazzaville) covers the photo show both before and after the opening ceremony.
After the two days' show at the City Hall of Brazzaville, the photo show will be displayed at a cinema, the National Library, the Headquarters of the UN Information Center Stationing in Congo (Brazzaville) and a university respectively and will finally be closed on November 24th.
