Photo Show of World Heritage in China in Venezuela

To celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the founding of the PRC as well as to mark the 30th anniversary of the restoration of China's legal seat in the United Nations, Chinese Embassy in Venezuela held a photo show of the World Heritage in China first on September 19th, 2001 together with Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and then on November 1st, 2001 together with Caracas City Government's Legacy Foundation. Mayor of Caracas, chief executives from Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and an audience of 200-plus attended the opening ceremonies of the two exhibitions.

At the opening ceremony held at Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese Ambassador Wang Zhen made a speech. He said that the 27 UNESCO cultural and natural heritage sites belong not only to China, but also to the whole world. He pointed out that the well-preserved world heritage made clear the achievements China had obtained in the protection of cultural relics. Attache D'affair¨¦s ad Interim Bao Esheng said at the opening ceremony of the show held on Nov.1st that as one of the countries in possession of the largest amount of world cultural and natural heritage, China has attracted worldwide attention to her rapid progress in recent years. Director of the Cultural Department of Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President of Caracas Legacy Foundation each also made a speech at the ceremony, expressing their admiration for China's historic and cultural heritage and the efforts the Chinese people made in the protection of the cultural legacy.
