To mark the 30th anniversary of
restoration of China's legal seat in the United Nations, a photo show of the World
Heritage in China was successfully held at Umaru - Gonda Cultural Center at Niamey, the
capital of Niger, starting from December 3rd. The Counselor of Chinese Embassy
Liu Xuebao, Secretary-General of Niger Ministry of Culture and Physical Culture
Barmini, General Manager Maman of the official press Le Sahel and Director of
the Cultural Center Sani attended the opening ceremony hosted by Chinese Embassy
in Niger.
Liu Xuebao made a brief opening speech and
then accompanied Niger friends to the show. Secretary-General Barmini manifested
much interest in the exhibits and expressed admiration for China's old
civilization and long history. He said that the excellent cultural heritage
displayed here embodied the superb wisdom of the Chinese people, and reflected
the harmony between man and nature. He had no doubt China, as a permanent member
of the Security Council of the United Nations, would make more significant
contribution to human civilization. He cherished the hope that the show would
help to promote cultural exchanges between China and Niger. He said at last that
he would visit the show again bringing his family with
him.
