On December 6th, 2001, the Chinese Embassy in the United States held a photo show called World Heritage in China at the embassy building. People from the US Congress and from political, cultural and information circles, foreign diplomatic envoys and people in all walks of life, 350-odd in all, attended the show.
Visitors took a great interest in the photos on display that were of high quality as well as distinguishing features. They thought that the wonderful sites of cultural interest and historic significance revealed by these photos not only gave expression to the wisdom of Chinese people, but also indicated their contribution to human civilization. The cultural heritage belongs to China and to the world as well.
