On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of
the restoration of China's legal seat in the United Nations, China held a
large-scale photo show of the World Heritage in China to express her gratitude
to the Nigerian government and the people for the precious support they granted
to China. Abujia's Cultural and Art Center Exhibition Hall where the show was
held was filled with animated atmosphere. Nigerian visitors watched the exhibits
attentively, murmuring admiration and pondering over the photos they had seen as
if they were enjoying aromatic exotic wine.
On display were photos focusing on 27 UNESCO
heritage sites in China and photos recording the history of China's entry into
WTO and success in the bid to host the Olympic Games. With China's pace in
opening-up quickened and her international status raised, the people all over
the world are inclined to understand China more, in particular the Nigerian
people who went around in 1971 for the restoration of China's legal seat in the
United Nations. Director of Nigerian Capital Region Cultural and Art Committee
Eemoga said to the journalists that since it was the first time for a bursting
number of visitors here to come to a grand photo show like this, he thanked the
photographers who brought to the Nigerian people China's splendid culture and
fantastic landscape. He added by saying, We admire China's long history and rich
culture, and we admire in particular China's economic development and technical
progress today. The Nigerian people are happy for the development of
China.
Among the visitors were residents of Abujia
and other regions. Some were busying taking photos of the photos on
display.
Many foreign diplomatic envoys to Nigeria
also visited the show. Pakistani diplomat Aihamed said that the photo show
helped him to better understand China's status in the field of world cultural
heritage. The fact that such perfect architectures could be well preserved over
a long period of 5,000 years had given full expression to the wisdom of the
Chinese people.
Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Liang Yinzhu
also attended the opening ceremony. He said that since the restoration of her
legal seat in the United Nations, China has been playing an increasingly
important role. He hoped that Nigeria, China and other countries in the world
join hands to create a peaceful and prosperous
world.
