As one of a series of exhibitions celebrating the 53rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a World Heritage in China artistic photography show was held on Oct. 19th at the well-known cultural and tourist city Zakpanei's Art Galley. The opening ceremony was co-chaired by Professor Malak Markovich, President of the Organizing Committee of the Third Poland Master-in-Music Seminar and Liu Xingquan, Curcural Attache of Chinese Embassy in Poland. Nearly 100 people were present at the ceremony, including 60-plus students at the seminar who came from different countries, government officials from Poland's Minor-Poland Province and friendly personages from Zakpanei Government, the Parliament and other circles.
Prof. Malak Markovich spoke first, congratulating heartily on the 53rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. In his speech he highly commended the outstanding contribution Chinese culture has made towards world culture, saying that the long history, splendid culture and spectacular natural landscape is certainly to leave a deep impression on visitors, and that the exhibition itself can arouse people's awareness of protecting world cultural heritage. Liu Xingquan gave an account of the unceasing efforts made by the Chinese government in cultural heritage protection and the achievements thus gained. Then he said that the cultural exchange was a tie as well as a bridge to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries. He expressed his hope that the show would be conducive to a better understanding of the history and unique attractiveness of Chinese culture for visitors who come to enjoy the fantastic charms of Chinese landscape.
The World Heritage in China photo show displayed 27 places included on the UNESCO list of world heritage sites, which unfolded before the visitor's eye China's long-standing culture and her appealing mountains and rivers.
At the opening ceremony, the curator of a museum from another city in Poland made a reservation on the spot for a show to be held in his museum.
