Established in 1948, Fujian Peking Opera Troupe has always been based on inheriting and carrying forward traditional art and aimed at serving society by means of reforms and creation. To date it has a repertoire of newly adapted traditional dramas, self-produced list of operas and modern dramas, nearly 400 in number. Artistically it has formed unique features of its own either in artistic conception, in technique of directing or in performing skills. By bold attempts to achieve the artistic effect of prominence through contrast using music and stage art, the troupe has become influential in the field of traditional drama.

* Yandang Mountain (Starred by Ruan Xuedong, and Shi Bingquan)

This is a representative martial arts play in group-fighting using toss, roll, pounce and strike commonly adopted in pantomime and physical performance in dancing. In this way the battle between the valiant insurrectionary army and the government troops fighting in haste is vividly revealed

* Little Cowherd (Starred by Han Ning and Kang Xiaohu.)

This is a light song and dance drama, using vocal music in kunqu opera, singing in antiphonal style, and humorous comedic physical actions to reveal happy pastoral life of peasant family.

* Zhang Sijie Descends to the World (Starred by Fan Lexin and Tian Lei)
