Zhu Rongji, Premier of the State Council, meets with the Cultural Delegation of the Korean Government headed by Nam Kong Jin, Chairman of the Organizing Committee In Commemoration of 10th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Korea -- A Year of Exchanges between the Peoples of China and Korea on the Korean side and Senior Officer of Korean Ministry of Culture and Sightseeing, on 28th in Zhongnanhai (the site of the Central People's Government of the PRC).

Zhu Rongji says that the development of the relationship between China and Korea has developed rapidly in the past ten years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations, particularly in 1998 when President Jiang Zemin and President Kim Dae-jung jointly declared to establish Sino-Korean cooperation partnership to face 21st century, which pointed out the way for the development of the relationship between the two nations. Zhu Rongji fully affirms the preparation work for the In Commemoration of 10th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Korea -- Year of Exchanges between the Peoples of China and Korea activities to be held this year sponsored jointly by the two governments and congratulates beforehand a complete success of the various items of activities in the year of exchanges.

The visit of the Cultural Delegation of the Korean Government to China is at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture. Also present at the meeting is Minister Sun Jiazheng of the Cultural Ministry.
