To mark 30th anniversary of normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, an exhibition entitled Works of Professors from Fine Arts Academy of Tsinghua University was held from October 2nd to 8th at Tokyo, Japan.

A four-person Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts Delegation headed by Liu Deju, Deputy Dean of the Academy, visited Japan on invitation and attended the opening reception held on the 5th in Tokyo.

President of the sponsor unit, the Running Commission of Works of Professors from Fine Arts Academy of Tsinghua University Sumiya Seijyu, Deputy Dean of Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts Liu Jude, Counselor with the rank of envoy of Chinese Embassy in Japan Zhang Aiping, and Chief of Tokyo Arts University Fine Arts Faculty Miyata Ryohei spoke at the reception. Chairman of Tokyo Overseas Chinese General Society Yin Qiuxiong, Chief of General Affairs Agency of Japan-China Cultural Exchange Society Satoh Shouko and others, about 200 in all, attended the reception.

Sumiya Seijyu said in his speech that it is a significant activity in cultural exchange to hold such an exhibition on the occasion of 30th anniversary of normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations. He expressed his heartfelt hope that exchanges in fine arts between the two countries will be further enhanced through this activity.

On display are over a hundred pieces made by 11 professors from Tsinghua University, each with different style of their own to reflect respective understanding and recognition of life and the times. The show has demonstrated the latest achievements of Tsinghua University in the field of fine arts.

The Chinese Embassy in Japan, the Japanese Operation Commission of 2002 Chinese Year and Japanese Year, Japan-China Society, Japan-China Friendship Association, Japan-China Friendship Members of Congress League, Japan-China Exchange Society and Tokyo Overseas Chinese General Society backed up the show.
