The job of collecting and appraising calligraphic works to be displayed in the Sino-Japanese Juvenile Calligraphy Show co-sponsored by Chinese External Art Exhibition Center, Finance Group Legal Person Japan-China Friendship Guild and All-Japan Students Calligraphy Federation, has been completed after half a year's efforts. The result was announced on October 12nd at the Great Hall of the People. Former Deputy Minister of Culture Liu Deyou and others attended the awards-issuing ceremony at which 10 first-class prize, 30 second-class prize, 60 third-class prize and 40 prize of excellence were granted to the Chinese youngsters.
The show this time is one of the major activities to mark 30th anniversary of normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan under the auspices of Chinese government, which has been energetically supported by the Ministry of Culture, China Calligrapher's Society, Chinese Embassy in Japan, and Japanese Embassy in China. It will be displayed from September 18 to 24 at Tokyo's Japan-China Friendship Guild.
