To celebrate 30th anniversary of normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, a film reception was given by Chinese Embassy in Japan on December 19th at the embassy's film projection hall. Two films, a special-topic film Chinese Spring Festival and a Chinese-made feature film Life Show were screened at the reception, which were warmly welcomed by the whole audience.
The film Life Show was adapted from a novel of the same name, directed by noted director Huo Jian and starred by young actress Tao Hong. The film portrays successfully and gracefully the image of a Chinese female in social reforms. The leading lady Tao Hong has a profound understanding of the beauty of the role to which she gives astonishing expression in her acting. Moreover, The film fully reveals the lingering appeal of urban night view using elegant artistic device, which is inevitably impressive to viewers. With its artistic attainment it became prominent among a multitude of formidable competitors and was the top winner of the Golden Goblet Awards at the 6th Shanghai International Film Festival to be granted the best film award, the best actress award and the best cameraman award. In September this year, the film was highly appraised at the Chinese Film Festival held to mark the 30th anniversary of normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations.
