Cultural Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of San Marino and the Government of the People's Republic of China
The Government of the Republic of San Marino and the Government of the
People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as "the Contracting
Parties"), desirous of strengthening friendly relations and promoting better
understanding of the two countries in the sphere of history, tradition, culture,
art and education, and with the belief that cooperation and exchange shall
promote the trust and friendship between the two countries, have decided to
conclude the present Agreement, the provisions of which are as follows:
Article 1
The Contracting Parties shall enhance the understanding on history, tradition
and art of the two countries, establish and strengthen relations on education
and learn about each other's educational achievements, and promote exchanges and
cooperation on tourism.
Article 2
The Contracting Parties shall learn about each other's achievements on
history, tradition, art and culture, and promote existing cooperation especially
as follows:
(a) Holding exhibitions and promoting creative ideas on fine arts, folk arts
and publication; (b) Encouraging exchanges between museums, libraries and
other cultural institutions; (c) Organizing reciprocal visits of artists,
cultural personages, and experts; (d) Promoting exchanges of textbooks,
teaching courses, educational materials, cultural films, and providing where
possible, scholarships for study and special training on the basis of equality.
Article 3
The Contracting Parties, via their respective organizations, shall promote
exchanges for learning about people's life of each other's country and
contributing to the enhancement of friendship between China and San Marino.
Article 4
With a view to implementing the present Agreement, the Contracting Parties
shall draw executive programs in which specific advice, appropriate measures,
and exchange items, as well as organizational and fiscal conditions to realize
all this are concluded.
Article 5
This Agreement shall not exclude the realization of other advice in line with
this Agreement.
Article 6
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date when the Contracting
Parties begin implementing their respective legal procedures and inform each
other of it. It shall remain valid for a period of five (5) years. Thereafter it
shall be automatically renewed for successive periods of five (5) years unless
either Contracting Party requests its termination by written notice to the other
served at least six (6) months prior to the date of expiration.
Done in San Marino in 1980. In duplicate in Chinese and Italian languages,
both texts being equally authentic.
