As an important activity of the opening
ceremony of Chinese Cultural Year, the exhibition dubbed as Daybreak -
20th Century Chinese Paintings will be held in Paris of France on
October 6.
This exhibition was the first overall one of
the 20th Century's Chinese paintings in Europe. It includes works of
founders and pioneers of Chinese modern painting in the early 1900s such as Xu
Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Liu Haishu, Qi Baishi, Huang Binhong and Pai Tianshou, as
well as works of outstanding artists after the mid 20th century like
Dong Xiwen, Luo Gongliu, Wu Zuoren, Wang Shiguo, Jin Shangyi and Zhan Jianjun.
Works of artists, who probe into the modern artistic ideology and concept, were
also included. Such as Luo Zhongli, Yuan Yunsheng, Chen Danqing, Zhang Lichen,
Jia Youfu, Liu Xiaodong, Zhang Xiaogang, Xu Jiang, Tian Liming and Wang Tiande.
In all there were over 100 pieces of works by more than 80 artists, which are
representative and original in modern Chinese paintings.
The credo of this exhibition: We provide a
chance for France and even Europe to appreciate the 20th century
Chinese paintings, and let them understand the connotation of social change and
development represented by those paintings; therefore by realizing the unique
cultural value of 20th century Chinese paintings, people will further
understand the phenomenon of multicultural world.
