Loitering in Stories
The Barn

This huge barn was the storehouse for the family's provisions. The
family also had 23 barns across the county. Every year, more than 3,300 tons of
grain from renters would be sent to these barns.
The Lady's Building

This is where the lord's daughters used to live. It was believed
by some that a cellar under the groundwork was used for the torture of farmers,
but in fact, it was merely used to preserve vegetables and meat.
The two-storied building on the west side is the private school where the
family children were educated. They studied Confucian classics and poems, as
well as Western mathematics, geography, history, and natural science.
