The Bridges of Taishun County Timber from the mountains around Taishun provides a rich resource for bridge building. The idea to cover the bridges was a practical one, as Taishan County annually gets heavy rainfall. And as many wooden bridges are built in mountains and remote areas far from villages, passers-by can take cover inside them in case of rain. Covered bridges provide not only a route for transportation but also can serve as shelter or venues for worship and entertainment.
