Youcai flowers in Luoping
Luoping is a small city at the intersection of Kunming, Guizhou,and Guilin.
After the Spring Festival each year, Luoping becomes a sea of youcai flowers.
The mountains are covered each year by the golden yellow flowers, which spread
all the way to the blue resevoir. The dark green hills, bright flowers and blue
water form some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere, far different from the
urban landscape of the city.
Jinji Mountain is the best position to admire the colorful countryside
scenery. When standing in the hills, you can see the sunlight shining on the
flowers, like an impressionist oil painting from the 19th century.
The
youcai flower is one of the most famous features of the landscape northeast of
the Yungui tableland. In March, the youcai flowers festival draws tens of
thousands of tourists from all over the world to enjoy the flowers, as well as
folk customs like traditional wedding ceremonies.
Besides the flowers, the landscape in the region features rushing waterfalls
and placid lakes, as well as marvelous sights like canyons.
