The Beauty of the Old Village of Guodong
Precious Spring Temple: The temple was built on the Precious Spring Hill
between 1400 and 1402 and was expanded in 1900. In 1958 the temple was destroyed
and was rebuilt between 1991and 1994. Over centuries the temple has been a
famous location for Buddhism believers to offer incense to Buddha.

The Precious Spring Hill: Hundreds of years ago, the Precious Spring Hill was
already one of the famous "Ten Sceneries in Wuyi County", which was recorded in
the county chorography. The Precious Spring is located to the north of the
temple, with high-quality water sufficient to feed thousands of people. The tip
of the hill is called the Lion Head, with an altitude of 488.3 meters.

In addition to the above eight sceneries, there are many other ancient
buildings in the village. Currently there are more than 20 buildings from the
Ming Dynasty and the rest were all built in the Qing Dynasty. Many of the
buildings are valued as cultural heritage sites, among which the ancestral
temple of He family is the most typical one with a history of 388 years.
Moreover, the village also has a surprising layout with 6 wells for drinking and
firefighting purposes and an orderly road network covering a wide area.
