The Beauty of the Old Village of Guodong
Pingxu Pavilion: Also named Wenchang Pavilion, it was demolished in 1976
during the Cultural Revolution and will be rebuilt soon. Another Wenchang
Pavilion was built in the village in the end of the Qing Dynasty, which is now a
heritage site under the county-level protection.
Sea Kylin Yard: It was built in the end of the Ming Dynasty with the original
name of "Nunnery of Returned Dragon". In 1995 the front hall was renovated. Sea
Kylin Yard is composed of two parts: the front hall holds a figure of Guangong,
god of war, and behind the hall is the pavilion enshrined with Guanyin, a
Buddhist goddess.
Double Springs in Guodong: They refer to the spring on the Precious Spring
Hill and Zhang Spring at the foot of the hill. Thus the village is also called
"Home of Double Springs".
