Huangshan : the abode of immortals
It is determined that temperature of the hot springs on
Mt. Huangshan is usua1ly at 24C. The water is clear, good in quality, with no
harmful elements, and belongs to fresh hot springs with rich heavy carbonate.
Using the water to bath helps prevent skin, joint and nerve illnesses. The
torrent water and high difference create many waterfal1s, of which Nine --
Dragon Waterfall is the most spectacular. The Renzhi Waterfall pours down from a
huge cliff in the shape of Chinese character" ren" (meaning human being). The
Wanzhang Spring rushes down from a cliff like a piece of white silk cloth.
A Sea of Clouds
Clouds on this mountain swirl around peaks and valleys, forming a" sea of
clouds". Standing at the summit of a peak, one feels 1ike standing on an island
in the sea. The "sea of clouds "on the mountain, according to its location, can
be dividedsintosEast Sea, West Sea, North Sea, each with a unique aesthetic
feature.
Mt. Huangshan, according to legends, was the abode of immortals. There are
more than 200 rocks that have already had names. When looking closely at them,
one can't help admiring the rich imagination of the people who have given them
names. Huangshan rocks make the mountain a natural museum of scu1ptures.
