Sanxingdui, an Archeological Fascination

According to Sun Hua, an archeologist with Peking University , those with pupils protruding outside the eyes are deities; and those with no eye pupils might be of special social status. Who are those without eye pupils? Some believe they might be shamans, while some think they might be high-ranking officials, blind but well educated. Is it possible that a group of blind people used to serve as important officials in the ancient kingdom in Sichuan? We can only speculate.

ˇ¤Bronze standing figure

With its pedestal, the figure stands 2.62 meters tall and weighs 180 kilograms. It's so far the tallest and largest of all the ancient bronze sculptures ever found in the world. The figure itself is 1.7 meters tall and unique in shape. It has a noticeably elongated body, a small head, and oversized hands.
