Macau-Tourists' Paradise

Ruins of St. Paul
Whether it is the architecture that grabs you, or the inviting international
cuisines, comfortable climate or amazing landscape, Macau has a little something
for everyone.
Architecture
The architecture in Macau bears traces of multiculturalism as well as many
different colors. A lot of old buildings are painted in pink, yellow, or green,
creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. Even the government buildings are painted
pink.

Taipa
One of Macau's most famous tourist attractions is Taipa, an island 2.5
kilometers away from Macau. It is known for its Portuguese architecture such as
the Taipa House Museum, the church of Our Lady of Carmel, and the ex-Carmel.

The Church of Our Lady of Carmel
Macau's charm can be found in its nooks and crannies. Narrow old alleys widen
into old churches and other hidden treasures. Broad highways and high-rises are
virtually invisible except in busy downtown areas.
The Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, also dubbed the New Road, lies at the heart
of Macau. The street is less than a mile long and is bordered by stately
buildings such as the 100 year-old Atlantic Bank. The combination of fountains,
churches and brightly colored buildings lends the area an almost Mediterranean
flavor.
