Sanya is located on the south tip of Hainan Province . The area is 1,916.6 square kilometers, with a 209- kilometer coastline and 19 bays.

The climate is classified tropical-oceanic monsoon in nature. Year-round, the weather is nearly as hot as peak summer, with flowers blooming throughout the seasons Sanya enjoys a reputation as an "Oriental Hawaii" because of its pleasant weather and is widely enjoyed as a holiday destination.

Along its coastline, Sanya has many scenic spots, such as Yalong Bay National Resort, Luhuitou Park, and Tianyahaijiao, among others.

Wuzhizhou Island

Wuzhizhou Island，a dazzling showcase of corals, crystal-like blue water, white beaches and green hills, is located on Haitang Bay, about 40 kilometers northeast of Sanya.

Wuzhizhou Island made a name for itself as Valentine's Island due to a beautiful legend: One day a young fisherman met a pretty girl on the island. They chatted with each other, gradually fell in love and decided to meet there every day. The girl was the daughter of the Dragon King, who found out about their love affair and put her in a locked house. Ultimately the girl ran out to meet her sweetheart. The Dragon King got extremely angry and used his magic to turn the lovers into two big stones on the island. Since then the place has been a popular destination for those who take an oath of everlasting love.
