Kanas Lake:Journey for Monster
The Latest News

In the afternoon of June 7th, 2005 (around 19:50 Beijing
time), seven Beijing tourists on a sightseeing boat on the Kansas Lake were
taking photos when they noticed that about 200 meters from their boat, the calm
lake surface was shattered by a meter-high wave and two large unidentified black
objects appeared above water. One object was following the other, as the two
swam rapidly from west to east toward the center of the lake, leaving a trail of
turbulent water like that left by a speedboat, before disappearing after two
minutes. The lake surface then restored its calm.
According to these seven Beijing tourists, the black "lake monsters" measured
about 10 meters long individually. When they saw them they used the digital
cameras they were carrying to snap this precious image. Currently, relevant
departments in Buerjin County have reached an agreement with the one who snapped
the photo and intend to duplicate and preserve the image. Whether the "object"
photographed is the legendary "lake monster" remains to be investigated.
