A Wealth of Chinese Springs

Shy Spring

On the Longmen Mountain in Guangyuan County, Sichuan Province , there is a spring as "shy" as little girls. The water shrinks when there are tremors nearby. When a cobble is thrown in to the spring, some echoes and waves are generated. Then the spring will shrink gradually and the water lowers. This is just like a shy young girl who flushes and hides herself in the presence of strangers. After a while, the water returns to the same level again.

Medicine Spring

There is magic Medicine Spring in the famous Changbai Mountain in northeast China's Jilin Province . The mountain itself is also famous for its local medical products. In the summer time, people directly drink the icy and bubbling water in the spring only with some sugar. Scientific research shows that the water holds high portion of dissociative CO2, saleratus, magnesium, sodium and calcium. The water has medicinal effects for a number of diseases like indigestion, constipation, cardiomyopathy and hypertension.

Fire and Water Spring

In Ruannan County of Taiwan , there is a spring that incorporates both fire and water in itself. The water is salted and bitter with a temperature of 75 Celsius degrees. A matchstick on the surface of the spring would ignite the water. The reason not only lies in the high temperature, but also the gas emitted from the water.

Pearl Spring

There is a strange spring that generates "pearls" in Anping County, Guizhou Province . When people speak or clap loudly near the spring, a lot of air bubbles come from the bottom of the water, and the shape are just like a cluster of pearls. According to geologist, the phenomenon is a result of "acoustic shock" due to the complex geological configuration in the area.
